I have an older version of the same Ruger .22 revolver. The pros are that it is easy to teach someone how to use. It was a gift from my grandfather.

If I was purchasing new today, I would get a Mark III type Ruger in stainless. You do have mags to deal with, but they are accurate little beasts.
