Another question on the tuffcloth, is it non-toxic? Do any of you guys use them on food-prep blades? If you are gonna be doing any food prep, I'd recommend you use Mineral oil !

I have had very good luck with Tuf-Cloth. I coat anything that I thick might rust. The website says it's non-toxic too. Here's the website incase anyone wants to investigate further. http://www.sentrysolutions.com/welcome.shtml

Mine came in yesterday, but I was at work so I picked them up at the post office this morning. I guess that sheaths are backordered; I sent an email asking about them today.

Jim, You're the second one to mention not getting a sheath. They ran out of the small kydex sheath when they released the YKCG also. I'm sure they have more on order. It seems like it took two to three weeks that time.
If you don't sharpen your axe from time to time, you will soon be chopping with a hammer.

I also got my DCDMs sans sheaths.
Not really a big deal as I ordered the sheath cause it was cheap

Thanks for the confirmation that they must be out of sheaths; I sent an email to ColdOne before sending the email to Patti, he replied that he'd seen a posting about somebody's order coming in without sheaths. It's good to know that it's not just me.

SR-77 is a non stainless steel. A DC finish is bead blast, basically.
Steel and bead blast = small pitting on surface. Pitting attracts moisture. Moisture on non-stainless steel causes a redox reaction which means rust. The iron ( Fe(II)) in the steel reacts with the oxygen(O2 is the oxidizing agent) in water (not on the molecule but actual gaseous oxygen in water) and forms iron(III) oxide, a.k.a rust. Pitting creates extra moisture which also means a readier supply of O2. (little scientific side note, iron will not rust in water unless there is O2)
Hope that mini explanation helps.
The good thing is that SR-77 ain't like 5160. That stuff is a rust magnet. Cloak did a patina on his Ranger but even out in the rain for one day, there was a lot speckled rust spots throughout the blade.
