Good to hear you and your family is ok. It's a reall pi$$ off when people steal from you. This one brings back some memories for me too of an incident at my parents house a few years ago.

Andy,

I am so proud of you!!!

You acted with great courage and conviction in the face a a man who ransacked your home, drunk, belligerent and dangerous when cornered.

I am very proud of how you acted and how you dealt with the very stressful and dangerous situation. UNREAL!!!

This is a perfect example of why people should be able to concealed carry in any state in the union. Without your Glock to intimidate and put this unpredictable situation to a safe and happy ending this could have been a nightmare for your whole family.
Thank God we will never know now.

Well done Andy. I am just busting with pride for you and your handling on this. You are, have been, and ever will be a true beacon of hope and joy in your family and community!

I salute you!!!

Peace.

I wanted to give you guys an update. Today my Dad & I went to court to testify. It was for the guy’s probation hearing. We both testified, as did the deputies. The fact that he was drinking alone was against his probation terms, let alone breaking in. He claimed he’d “blacked out” and didn’t remember it. But one of the deputy’s testified that during questioning, he stated “I came out the back door, and a guy had a gun in my face.” Which isn’t what happened, but the dumba$$ admitted being in the house with that statement. The detectives also testified that he had been drinking.

The judge found him guilty of violating the terms of his probation, and sent him back to lockup for 600 days. I guess his criminal trial will come sometime after that, so it might be a couple years. When it was over, we rode down the elevator with the detectives, and asked them if they ever traced the cell call that kept ringing while we were holding him. We thought it might possibly be an accomplice calling. They said they checked it out, and it was his mother calling him, as he’d said, telling him a storm was coming & to get out of the rain.

So, that might be all the news about the situation for a while. I wanted to fill you guys in.

Thanks, Andy. I'm glad he's where he belongs. Even if he "had a gun in his face", he deserved it. I just wish I could act/react in such a situation IF one like that ever happened to me (though I'll be just fine if one never does ).

Yeah, he should be glad he went to jail instead of a morgue.

Andy....You did what you needed to do. Now , What can you do NOW to PREVENT this from occurring again??? Gun Safe , BIG DOG(s) , reinforced Doors/windows..etc. God Did intervein on your behalf....that dirtbag could have had all but two of your guns***...there could have been 2 or more thugs in stead of one.... An ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure. I'm thankful you and your family are still with us....by the grace of GOD

I've been robbed in the past... It's a real eye opener, made me change the way I do things.

It took quite a while before I felt safe and secure again.
