I am glad I found one at cost from a fellow dog but would have paid more for such a great knife (so I hear).

I tend to agree that as long as both parties are happy then it's a good deal at any price. I'm just happier when I pay less for more.

and I have and will again. That's what is so great about Rats, Hogs, and Dogs! Good people all around. I have seen this done for complete strangers as well. A very giving community indeed. I am happy to be a part of them all.

Good Kraz. I paid 170 with cardboard sheath for my DOG FATHER some guy from BF sent me email and like magic ~poof~ it was there in 2 days. I was happy to pay that price. That included shipping!

You got a great deal Stan! I paid $188 (I went and pulled out the invoice) for the DF, the factory sheath, shipping and Texas state tax.

That Texas state tax is definitely a stinker! It hurts just a bit when you check out but once your blades get to you it just doesn't matter anymore.

Yeah KS, the 8.25% is a scorcher but I am happy to live in a state with no state income tax! Easy trade for me.

If prices hit 180+ I may be moved to sell two and keep three, but i doubt i will sell one for less... i just like them too much, and need (as a user) too much.

however, the Howling fat retailed for $98? and 225 for a lightly used one is quite reasonable to pay now.. and i think the dmutt is better- so what does that tell you about value?

That's the thing about these knives. They retail really low (I hope Dan didn't hear that). Super under priced. So the secondary market prices are almost what I would have expected from the get go. So either way you win if you score one because you either get the deal of a life time from the Yard or you get a fair deal from the secondary market. IMHO.

It pisses me off when people who struggle to get one have to pay a premium from the "investor collector" to get a great user that should have cost them under 100.

It seems that people pray on the misfortunes of others...some call it oppertunity...I call it a shame!

No one is going to get rich off this other than the Brothers Busse. I already have put ohiomitch on my craplist for his flipping of the DM.

GF: that is what I saw happen to the Rats for a time. They came out with some of the best knives on the market for a great price. Their goal seemed to be focused on getting the best knives for the $$$ to those who could not afford their more expensive brothers (Busse). But when certain models discontinued there was a huge price increase. Especially from those who seemed to have several on hand. The only problem I have with this is that the reason certain models went out of stock so fast is because some people bought several with the sole intent to jack up the price. It's their right I know.

But what of the poor dude who only wanted one, as a user, and could only afford it at the Swamps great pricing. Once on the secondary market it was once again out of his price range.

I remember my first rat. It was a SR-101 Bog Dog. I paid $120.00 on the secondary market. Currently that is a very low price for that model. But it sold orignally for around $75.00 I think. I have seen them for as much as $300.00

I have nothing against the guy who buys a knife, like the Mutt, to try it out. Then after a time decides he needs something different. And as it happens his knife has increased in value. So he sells it at a profit. That's a different situation.

That is why I am thankful for getting my Mutt for basically the original price. Would I have paid more? Hell yes. But for others who missed out they may be turned off for good. And that's bad. IMO.

Sorry for the rant guys. I just want to see a Bone for every Dog. Some cheese for every Rat. And some, well slop, for every Hog.

Now back to my zombie movie.
