I've got a Ruger MkII Slabside Target model, and a 10/22 rifle, along with about 2k rounds of ammo. Also have a .17 HMR and about 500 rounds for it too.
That right there will take a lot of game--small to larger. I have used a 17 HMR on a yote before and devastating.

I've killed several deer with a .22 to the head, dropped them in their tracks. I'll do ok, if need be. If they're too far away, I've got a few others in the safe
I think I need a can for my .308, just in case I need food but not heard by others. I like quite time and I don't want to share with the zombies in the woods.

Another day in paradise.

Watch out for all those virgins!

Thinking more along the lines of Guns and Roses Paradise City but today will be more like Welcome to the Jungle.

I also share your fear Brother.

Chris, you seem to be surprisingly on top of things considering you are suffering from sleep depravation!

(I knew a spook whose job it was was to "listen" to things). You should have seen the inside of the van he used for work!
Probably a 1966 VW, curtains, shag carpet, rolling smoke, a bunch of neat little electronic devices, and a RPG along with a Mexican Mauser in the overhead camper part. Is that close?

A store bought can would be nice, but I can make do with some common household materials if need be

A bit of an EE background and a friend who may or may not have been involved in a similar job...
Now windows & lasers are another story... Familiar with that?

Chris, I can just hear your wife now. "Honey can I have a couple thousand to go to the store"? Oh and I'll need you to hook up the trailer to the truck OK.

I just can't imagine having to buy 3-4 months of groceries at one time. Shoot, I can't imagine seeing that much at one time!
