Thanks for all the kind comments, guys!
Not long after I got that Double Eagle, I took it down to give it a good cleaning. (It's a first generation DE.) I made the mistake of taking the left side grip panel off. All the de-[censored] goodies are under that grip panel. It was nip and tuck there for awhile whether I was gonna get it back together again or not.....

Worse! You can't buy a 1911 and leave it alone, there's always mods to be made. It's as bad as Black Rifle Disease!

Welcome Fred!

I have not chronographed the 460V. I've never shot anything with the 460V but pumpkins and cans. Unfortunately, they do not make the 460V anymore. It carries well in a shoulder holster and not too bad on a belt. They still make the snub nose though. Crazy to think that it has NEARLY as much energy at the muzzle as a .308 Win.

Found some un sold old stock here in California (460V 5"). Now I just have to make the time to travel a little to get it. They actually had it on sale a while back for the holidays. Maybe I can talk them into selling at the sale price. Now comes the hard part of finding the across the chest holster in leather.

I'll bet if you looked on some of the pistol forums you'd find a sheath maker that would fix you up.

Fred,

I'd snatch that V up if it's still there. I have not seen any around here in WA for a while now. I'm sure that you can find a holster. There are a ton of leather benders that could make an amazing hoslter. I'd love to make a shoulder set-up with a 460V on one side and the S5LE on the other. Man, what a set-up that would be. I'd like to see what you end up with.

I know I posted a picture of this one already but it's feels like I found out unicorns are real or something. I'm pretty excited! I can't wait to be able to make a move on one of these. this os number one on the birthday or christmas present to self list.

A .357 1911... And yes the reviews by most owners suggests it is a accurate and reliable. And they include a spring that will let you shoot .38 spl.
