I have all kinds of supplies in the basement including 12 volt batteries and power inverters. We never go very long in the dark. I also have a couple of packs loaded and ready to go in case we had to vacate for a while.

We went to town today and saw a lot of tree branches along the road. Supposed to be nice for a couple of days, then Tuesday they are predicting severe weather again. Springtime !

Evening Yard!
Been out a bit. My part time gig has been piling on the hours lately. Not too much going on outside of work. It's been too windy to do much outside. When it wasn't blowing gale force winds, I was busy tinkering with my truck.

SKUNKY’S REDNECK Cheddar Broccoli Cauliflower soup Because of the stormy weather, there was A LOT of rain lightening and thunder, I got a little adventurous for lunch today. Yesterday I roasted some broccoli and cauliflower florets in the oven along with some seasonings and it turned out pretty good. (Although I wish I had some Curry powder ) Patty suggested we should try our own version of Cheddar Broccoli soup with some cauliflower cause that’s what we had. (2 bags Cauliflower 1 bag Broccoli). I started off making a roux using 3Tbl spoon butter and the same of flower, but I should have used 5-6 of each (hey it was my first time and I’m NOT chef Prudhomme) . I put the veggies, roux and a 32oz box of Chicken broth, salt pepper garlic powder and just a touch of Chili powder in a 5qt pot and set it to gettin hot. Once it was bubbling I used an immersion blender to get the veggies down to a lot smaller size. After I did that and while it was still bubbling, I dropped in a block of cream cheese and a 12oz bag of shredded Cheddar Cheese. And started stirring until all the cheese was melted (I had softened the Cream cheese in the microwave). Once everything was all combined and the cheeses completely melted I served us up a couple bowls. Was it like Panera Bread Company cheddar and broccoli soup, nope, but it wasn’t half bad for a Rednecks first try.

Patty told me to get a gun with our tax refund money. SO, I got a companion, kinda, for my King Cobra. Picked up a 10 shot S&W 617 with 4 inch barrel and target sights. I wanted the Colt but when my FGS got the gun in it was a 357. And Jeff said that since he had me wait a couple hours for it to come in (Patty and I went to lunch and then came back) it was the wrong one. But he said he had the 617 he would sell me for 200 dollars less than MSRP. Well hey, I’m always willing to save 200 bucks. Now I gotta find a good holster for it. I’m thinking about the 1791 RVH-2 holster for that gun, as I already have one 1791 holster and they are VERY sturdily built. Not real fancy, but that’s not what I’m looking for. Man, I sure hope Patty doesn’t make me buy any more guns for a while. .
