I've done many a modified kit. I lack a lot of creativity when it comes to comming up with a new recipe on your own. So I use the kits for inspiration, I cal them my muses. And even though this was a kit it was still a lot of work.

I've yet to have done a full grain mash. One day soon. I've got to get a little more in the way of equipment and experience before I go the full grain route.

Personally, I think all-grain brewing is a waste of time. There are so many good extracts available today, the only grains you really need are specialty malts like crystal malt and chocolate malt for flavor and color. Never had much luck with those expensive liquid yeasts, either. Would you mill your own wheat to bake bread? Glad you have fermentation. A good fast start usually means a good batch. Brew on!
