I bought 4, and I can't say precisely why. I am certainly annoyed when somebody sells something for a big markup the day after they sell out (that's profiteering), but if they do the same thing after a few months, then it's OK because their investment has matured. It's an emotional argument rather than a logical one, and doesn't even make sense to me, but that's how I feel.

I also have a tendency to acquire stuff compulsively; I'm sure that it's evidence of a spiritual shortcoming. However, I'm single and carry a zero-balance on my charge cards from month-to-month, so my spending is as under-control as I need it to be. As far as I know, because of the unconditional guarantee that all the Busse family companies maintain on their knives, nobody "needs" more than one user. I bought more than one simply because I want more and, at this point in my life, I can afford it.
