Thanks guys, glad to see you like them. I'm hoping to add the MPLE and BDLE to this collection when they become available again. Hopefully, my SYK will grow to rival my Muela collection in size.
Rainwalker and Unsub, thanks for the tips on cleaning up those WWII folders; any tips in loosening up the pivots? Like I said above, I tried soaking them in some WD-40 to try and loosen them, but no luck.
As you said Unsub, I'm happy to have the DFLE as one of my knives now, replacing that old ring handled one. But I can't complain about that one too much; yeah, it's ugly, and can't hold an edge as good as other steel.. but it still did everything I wanted it to do for 11 years in heavy woods, and didn't break or bend. So that's gotta count for something.
It's funny that you say you almost bought the SRK, because I almost didn't buy it, then saw the price and said," What the heck? Why not...," they were only asking $50 for it at the American PX on camp over there, same as for the CRKT Hissatsu. They're asking alot more than that for them back here in Canada and the US, so I got one of each.
Rainwalker, I hope you're not too busy, because I'll have to get some pants for that DFLE finally, and after seeing some of your newer work with leather, I'm getting a good idea of what I want. I'll be PMing you soon. As you can guess from the above pics, I'm a real leather fan for my blades.
