The SOD didn't replace my CT either. One of the main reason why the CT is lengendary is because it is made of differentially tempered SR101 (just take a look at the some of the crazy secondary market prices, they go from 2x to 3x the org. cost).

I think this one will do great. Think thick SR101 that will stay sharp for a very LONG period of time. Be it chopping or cutting food. It will still come back with a decent edge after your week long camping trip.
