We have developed what I like to call "real world" training, and it works very well for what I/we do. Every day starts out with extensive stretching, and then, five days of the week we do a 3-5 mile run with a semi-loaded pack with anywhere from 15-40 pounds in it. The run is done on trails of varying terrain instead of on a track. On Mon, Wed, Fri,& Sun we do pull-ups (10 sets of 12 reps), push-ups (10 sets of 20 reps), sit-ups (5 sets of 50 reps), on Tues, Thurs & Sat, we do an "all out" 1000yd swim. On top of that we do weight training five days of the week as well.

One thing I also think is VERY important is NOT putting JUNK in your body! By that I mean things like artificial sweeteners, MSG, and bad food in general. I am a believer in eating lots of fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs, brown rice, and lean meats. If you put junk in, you will build a junky body.

That swim sounds like a killer. Do you do all of this on site at the house? Sounds like an entertaining/effective program.
