I am with you. I almost pulled the trigger on a Boss Street because it looks like a good design but it is simply too thick.

It is not just about being too thick to slice with. It is about it being too heavy for it's size. There are certain knives that are just too heavy for their size. My Rat-5 was a good example. It was just way too heavy. I think it was a full 1/4" thick. I know I could never break it but I could never break a 3/16" knife with a 5" blade either.

A blade less than 5" with a thickness of 1/4" is just nonsense. I won't buy one that thick because I actually use my knives.

By the way the Scrapper 5 is a really nice knife and it is balanced well with a good handle. It needs to be full flat ground because it is a little thick around the edge but it is still a great knife.
