Can't see the bottom strap though, is it made like the top one?

In the case of a sword I was thinking the "bottom" strap might be better half way down the scabbard. I have seen military swords with two straps attaching to the waist kinda like yours but the "bottom" strap being in the middle like I mentioned.

With your style scabbard and my modification I think the sword could be worn at the waist or around the chest as you mentioned.

Since my sword is about to ship....
