Welcome gd. Cool topic,and i think its the root of all our searches, and the reason i started as an amatuer knife maker.
But for now, i would have to say that my favorite all-around, if i only had one knife, do-it-all, indestructible, SHTF, total beast of a tool, is my Regulator.
I'm sure that if you get your hands on one you wont be disappointed.

Curious about that choice. I have a Regulator and agree that it's a beast, but one thing has concerned me about it in the role you describe: the tip is very pointy; comparatively thin and sharp and, well, pointy. That can be a good thing when you need it, but I have wondered how that would work out in hard use as you describe. How has it fared in your use?
