I thought if Busse was going to make a knife like the HC it might use a new brand name to avoid some of the controversy.
How about some tests on things that really matter with these knives like edge retention?
If I have to choose a nice little fixed EDC I would much prefer the HC to my YKCG.
Now if I am going out to the bush or need an entry tool I would choose the YKCG.
My current favourite fixed EDC(Before it went to Ontario for new pants anyway) is my 52100 Spyderco Mule. It is very thin and could not take a fraction of the abuse an HC could but it is one of the sharpest knives I have ever owned.
I am sure Scrapyard is not going to stop using S7 or stop making knives like the YardKeeper and the S6. Them adding a different style of knife to their inventory does not hurt those who like the tough dogs it just adds some choices.
I would have prefered a more exotic steel to 154 but I do prefer the stainless to S7 for a small EDC knife.
Come on guys lets see some edge retention tests. It will be quite a while before my Muppy gets here and I can do a cut off with my SS4.
