I worry about edge retention in smaller EDC knives or hunting knives. Big choppers are the polar opposite in that they should have toughness rather than retention.

This is the first time I have heard of this happening to a DFLE. I was under the impression that it was only a single batch of DFCG's that were at risk so this is quite worrying. Can you even get a replacement DFLE if it breaks?
How long will it take and how much will the shipping etc cost? There was someone here who was waiting for months to get their DFCG back.
If all you were going to get for your chipped DFLE was retail price - shipping would you be happy?
