if the SR77 blade gets rust on it, is the toughness of the actual blade and its solidness (if thats a word) weakened??? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
You'll most likely just get a little surface rust. A little oil and rag will take it off. As I said SR-77 is non-stainless, but it's not a rust magnet.
On the edge, strop it out.
The steel characteristics (toughness, etc) are within the matrices of the entire blade and not just the surface. Rusting won't do jack to the carbide matrices in the steel. Overheating the blade and cooling it will, basically f***ing with the heat treat and carbide matrices.
