Yes, I agree that a SY Kukri would be my choice as well because the Res C grip would make the most of being able to use it anywhere in the world. No steel contact for Artic weather.....not slippy in wet conditions.....cushioning effect as well on hard woods or anything else for that matter. That knife would have huge military interest over here I reckon if it was priced right.....and here is my one moan on this topic....I would not mind paying a high price to buy it off the maker....but having so many "steel speculators" out there....it would be interesting to see if a limitation policy could be imposed to enable stock to be available from the maker....otherwise these knives are just being made to line the pockets of guys who can buy as many as they can get to re-sell at hugely marked up prices. There is more Busse-kin steel being hoarded and never used than enough.....
Somebody should do something about limiting the number one person can buy of a given knife from the makers so that the "good news" can be spread around at fair prices!
I just paid $300 for a DFCG.....and it was hard to find....why not just sell them for a price which reflects their top end value and cut out the secondary market/mark up so that people are not rushing to get rich? It is like selling $100 dollar bills for $50.00.....maybe then the makers could be able to carry some stock once in a while....benefit from their labour more and expand with the increased capital so we have more choice!
