I'm IN - Let me know when/how to make my contribution.

If i might make a suggestion, we could collect a minimum amount (Say $10.00) and give the residual to some worthy Veteran's advocacy group?

SALEX - EXCELLENT IDEA. (and welcome to the yard)

KS Jump - good to see you again!

Bob - welcome to the Yard!

Since we do have so many on the list for Jason's DM - I'm down for the 5 or 7 or 10 bucks and the excess going to the Wounded Warrior Project, as that seems to be Jason's charitable organization of choice - and I'd feel good donating to an organization that helped one of our JYD's in his time of need. That way - if more dogs jump in at the last minute (as is happening - and its great!!) we don't have to refigure #'s and all of that, and everyone that wants to contribue is still able to.

Again, I propose that we go w/ Salex's idea - pick an ammount, probably $7 or $10, take care of Gravelface's Dumpster Mutt, and send the excess to the Wounded Warrior Project. If this seems fair to everyone, make mention of it - Magnum22 is the head of this project, so it will ultimately be his decision. Those that can't contribute say $10 can still just do a couple of bucks and every little bit would count.

Obviously, this will all hinge on Mag's "Yes" or "No," but I think that it is a great idea from one of our new Dogs. Thanks again for the input Salex.

This seems like a worthy and admirable cause. if charity is the case there's no need to set a limit, everyone can contribute as much as they want. I, however, don't feel comfortable handling all that money. if someone else would like to step forward, be my guest. also, we can all make our own donations to this organization. if you make a large donation you may want a receipt for taxes. this may seem a little self serving and contrary to the spirit of charity, but for some it will make a difference. furthermore, many on the list signed up when they knew the donation was already $5 or less and would only go down, not up. i don't quite think we should tamper with that.

in short, here's the deal:

1. i think everyone should make their donations independently and confidentially. you can make as large or small a donation as you want. no shame in bein the guy 'not on the list.' you shouldn't be compelled cuz everyone's doin it and you shouldn't look down on anyone not doin it.

2. i'd rather if we did make a group donation, we do it with a different sign up with pm's rather than posting. everyone will know before hand the set amount to donate. don't pull a fast one here and mess with gravelface's mutt.
