It is good to hear Recon surfaced with all of his duties.

everything is going well. right now i am in a Lieutenant holding company here at Fort Lewis, WA. duty is just pretty much "removed" because all the privates and enlisted folks are prepping for a deployment so we are tasked out cleaning up after LDAC (warrior Forge) the annual training ROTC event where soon to be 2LTs go and are evaled. i worked LDAC this summer on the land navigation committee. it was good. i manned a checkpoint for about 24 hours straight for day and night nav. tragically, we had a cadet commit suicide on the course back in July he hung himself with his LBV and 550 cord... it was nothing done on our behlaf as cadre, just a cadet that needed help and had some bad things going on in his life. his family was falling apart, sister got cancer, he was failing LDAC, etc.. no reason for suicide of course but it was just very tragic. then we had a former soldier 56 yr old come into the PX mini mall and shoot his gf working at a fast food place and then commit suicide. its been one helluva summer out here at Lewis and im ready to go back east and get to my boys in the 1st ID 3rd BCT. got about 4-5 more months of TRADOC at benning and lee then im on to Knox. its been good, making GREAT office pay but lots of it is going out to pay off loans and bills way different from college when all i did was ride my CBR, chill with my gf, and troll on the forum here... oh well, gotta grow up sometime. @ least i have a bachelors, masters, and commission as an army officer to show for my time in ROTC and college. its a good life.
