Here are the knives that I would like to see from the Scrap Yard in the future. I imagine that other people may have posted similar ideas, but that's okay I just want to put in my 2c worth and maybe see some of these knives come to fruition.
A Scrap Yark double-edged dagger. SR-77 for toughness. Seven inch double flat ground blade, 1/4" thick, or saber ground 3/16" would be okay too. Good sized round choils on both sides. Contoured Res-C handle with protruding butt for hammerfist type strikes (this is a fighting knife). Reasonable finger guards, but not too big to inhibit a thumb up forward grip. Could also be offered with Scizzy-style cord wrap.
7.5" skeletonized necker, 3.25" blade, 3/16" thick. SR-101 for edge retention and sharpness. 3 deep contours on the handle to secure the first three fingers and a tapered butt for the pinkie--a handle that grips you back and makes you feel like nothing can get this knife out of your hand. Jimping on the spine is a must for neckers in my opinion. Full flat ground drop point blade with small choil.
Scrap Yard Kukri. SR-77 for toughness. 13" blade of 5/16" stock--thick enough so you know its not going to break and full flat ground to cut down on weight. Nice big round choil so you can choke up. Classic Res-c handle will be perfect for this one.
Can't wait to see the results of this contest and it is cool to hear the voice of the people. Right on!
One moment's vigilance may determine your fate.
