The people from CMMG are at most of the Missouri gun shows. I spent an hour talking to them one time. They are very nice, and seem quite knowledgable. I wish they built their own .308 AR platforms (they are dealers of DPMS). I nearly traded them my Olympic Arms toward one of their .223 AR's.

CMMG is awesome to deal with. They have a really good rep in the AR industry and I know they do use DPMS parts but they do much better QC checks than DPMS and I think they make some of there own parts.

I "think" their .223 rifles are made completely in house. If anything is DPMS, it is the lower reciever. Tthe barrels are 4150 instead of 4140, and they parkerize them disassembled, and then put them together so that there is no bare metal under the front sight, and so on. They were only charging $16 for 30 round mags (brand new) that were their reccommended brand at the gun show. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

When I bought mine they were just making there own barrels. Now I think they have upper receivers and I know they have CMMG marked lower receivers now. I think they use DPMS lower parts though which is ok because they catch any QC issues in house. Most lower parts kits are all made at the same few places and just sold by the different companies anyway.

I would definitely recommend CMMG but you will pay more for them. Model 1 Sales and J&T Distributing both do kits and have pretty good reps and will be cheaper than buying an upper, LPK and stock separately.
