Tezza, you sure surprised me!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />I didn't think ANYTHING could harm the point of a Chopweiler short of putting it in a vice and beating on it with a hammer! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> Sorry to hear of the problem, but follow Bruce's instruction about contacting Swamp Rat and they will make it right. Are you sure that wood wasn't PETRIFIED ?!!!?? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />
I would of thought so too Tom, but not this time mate.
After playing with my Scrap Yards & Swamp Rat. I just get the feeling that SY steel has more flex & IMHO is a better steel!
If you look at the piece of wood I was digging into. It's not a large piece, so the weight is not that great, & I was not holding it down with any great force. I would understand if it was viced down on a bench, but not this way, kneeling down on the grass.
No petrified wood mate, 2" thick REDGUM. Australia has some of the hardiest timbers in the world. Redgum is our premium fire timber, as it just burns & burns. But at the end of the day, it's still wood.
Tell me something. How does the SR warranty work?
Why would SR want a broken tipped knife back. And I take it SR pay ALL shipping charges from Australia for the broken knife. How about the new knife, who pays shipping on that?
