Are you ready for some "hard use" knife blasphemy? The best knife for digging in wood and prying is a cheap old bayonet or one of those 420J2 wonders. ANY knife with a fine point will either lose its point or have it bent if you put enough lateral force on a small area. I would never do much of it with any of my good knives unless it was a true emergency survival situation.
