GF, I hear you, but they are so light you can really swing them fast. I have some old WWII short machetes by Collins and True Temper, and they are even thinner. These light fast blades are great in the jungle or Altamaha. And they will chop reasonably well, too. Even the much collected Collins #18 Bowie/machete is only 1/8" thick. Now, I would not use one like Diceman used his DF, on big logs! People that actually live and work in the jungles know what works. I like the Condors for what they are, jungle knives.
