My brother, sister and I were raised by our great aunt & uncle, and they loved to camp and fish.Every summer we would go somewere new to camp. One summer we went to Trinity Lake in Nor.Cal.Two weeks of fun in the sun for us kids, but it must have been heck for them.My brother was chopping on a stump with a cheap hatchet from a gift shop we stoped at on the way,and put the bottom corner of the blade into his knee right below the cap.Lots of blood but not to bad. While he was chopping his leg,my sis & I were out catching scorpions. We finally wandered back to camp, and our grt.aunt & uncle were freeking out about my bros.leg and wanted to kmow where we had been. When we showed them our coffee can of scorps., they really flipped.Only time we were grounded while camping.Later we were fishing for trout in the creek that fed the lake.My uncle was was in the canoe on the creek, the rest of us were on the bank trying to coax the trout right below us to take our worms.Well thats when we saw the rattle snake. My bro & I wanted to kill it,our aunt was screaming to get away from it,and uncle was paddleing like crazy to get to shore. He finally made it and killed the snake. It was only about a foot long with 4 buttons.
We put our Great Aunt & Uncle through heck over the years, and I sure do miss them, lots of good memories.RIP Fred & Lottie.
