Exactly! I have some Tramontina machetes that I use all the time for the stuff that might put them in the dirt. You just file and shapen out the nick.

I hear ya there. Although I do have two Gerber Bear Grylls Parangs. One full size and one compact in the truck all the time. Those are my "Knock around" blades, those where if I mess them up some, no biggie. I've only got $60.00 in the two of them.
