Have you ever experienced two rednecks arguing about Fords and Chevys? It just gets pointless. I have brands of products that I prefer like anyone else. But unless I am on their payroll, that is all it is, a preference. It may be based on facts or performance or in some cases just an emotional attachment (does anyone
really believe Harleys are better than Hondas?). But for most things I buy, my "loyalty" has to be earned every time I buy the product. Scrap Yard replaced some other brands I used to buy. Swamp Rat replaced some scrappers. That is the way it goes. I thought it was great when Swamp Rat and Scrap Yard came out with the nice 154CM knives. Then some bonehead broke one doing something stupid. I'd love to see more of them, because they have better stain resistance and edge holding than SR77, and for some applications that is the steel to use. Like in my kitchen, for sure. Here are some of my favorite kitchen knives. No two are even the same brand. I'd love to replace some of them with 154CM scrappers.
