One problem I see you might have is a dog chewing your handle/Res-C which is like a syth rubber, only firmer. I have heard of squirrels munching on them <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

Kydex I think would be your best option for what you want and what will be around your blade, doggies! Consider a "Dangler" system with it, ask any good sheath maker (pm here or email) and I'm sure they'll give you the low-down and idea's.

Kydex does make marks on the Res-C, more or less but it's not a big deal, and any of the good makers will make it exactly the way you need it, as far as fit and security. Some like it tight, some like it loser, it's a custom job and they work with you (I know Jeff excels at this).
