The problem with shotguns is "most" people have a difficult time controlling them...and recoil is such that folks don't train with them. They're only fun when shooting ducks / dove / clays (flying moving things). I'd get a shotgun for sport...nothing more. The Benelli Nova is a fantastic bird slayer....I forget the name of its semi brother.

You've got your AR, right? Get a second, for the wife, friends, spare parts, shtf, etc. Spend more money on ammo than you did on the guns...practice. When you get bored and your money is itching the pocket...start delving into NFA crap.

Have you ever tried long range shooting? That gets fun too. Reloading...adds an entirely new dynamic to the sport.
