I think that everything should be legal.
A shard from a broken prison cafeteria tray is just as, or more deadly than any plastic knife made.

Banning the plastic knives from the Cold Steel catalog does absolutely nothing, and does not make anyone safer.

Not saying to ban it - I'm a die hard conservative republican (I swear!) and I'm all for having an armed public - but there are some personal issues I have w/ some of that stuff, as far as it being total crap w/ very little legitimate use.
I get what you are saying, but the idea that an item needs a legitimate use, or a "good reason" to possess, is the standard rationalization by those who do want to selfishly take away our freedom so they will "feel" safer. (which is why I can't help but rant about the subject) Non metallic knives have been around for a long time. How about a traditional flint knife? Novelty weapons like Cold Steel sells are a good thing. Kids who buy a Cold Steel product are less likely to get hurt when playing around with it, due to the fact that it is less likely to break than a POS junker (which is the only other available option for some stuff.

The way I see it, it is already illegal to carry certain things certain places, (which is pretty much BS in the first place.) People used to be able to carry knives on the planes, and they still should. The existence of a plastic novelty dagger was a non issue. The fact that it is an issue is due to the folks determined to take away our rights with ridiculous reactionary laws and restrictions against objects they fear due to their own stupidity.

I don't see any reason or possible legitimate use for beanie Babies or little crystal figurines, but I think people should be able to have them. If I put the figurines or even a rock collection in a sock and started beating people to death with it, should we ban socks and rocks?
