I have to tell this story, last week my daughters boyfriend bought a CS Brave Heart, two days ago he was fooling around with it and dropped it on our basement floor (lino over concrete, about a 1/8 inch of blade broke off and a further 1/4 inch or so bent.
Being a rather thin blade at the point it isn't suprising it broke, but we will get to see if CS warranty will cover it.
I can't comment on the customer service, but I am not surprised at the damage. A thin knife made of (relatively) brittle stainless steel will not fare very well when dropped on concrete. Unfortunately Murphy's Law almost always guarantees the bread lands butter side down.
I had similar results dropping a stainless knife, yet I have forgotten what one it was- Maybe a Spyderco?
