Dan...... Thank you for this offering!!! I cannot wait as I have been waiting for something like this!

My B-Day is in March, guess what I'm getting? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

I guessed that you would like the "high tech" version of the Nessmuk, Dan. I like your modified Ontario skinner version as well. Taking an old design and producing it with modern materials has its appeal, too. For me, this is the boldest and most exciting small knife offered by the Yard. Dan Busse rolled the dice on this one. This is not a hard core door breaching combat knife like we are used to in the Yard. It is an outdoorsman's knife, suitable for a variety of real world survival tasks and ordinary kitchen use.

Vic,

I have a love for both old and new designs. I actually have PSK categories as to which knife goes with what kit. I have a primitive knife and kit to match where it is just the basics which include fire (the actual forged one, not Swedish) steel and char cloth, a stone knife that a friend knapped for me and more in a leather pouch that I made.

Then I have my Nessmuk kit which is upgraded with matches in a small, round tin with misc stuff stashed inside. This can be stashed in a pocket or one of my cloth bags. I still need a double bit axe and double bladed pocket knife. This kit uses my modified Ontario seen here or the new Forged Nessie that I bought at a rendezvous this past September. I need to post pics of the new one.

Then I have a modern "Nessie" kit which is in an altoids can and all is housed in a small plastic case. This is what I pair with my DM, RMD, and the LE Scrap Yard knife which my mind slips on the name... It is not the filet knife but the other small LE with mudder handles. This is all combined with my Swedish firesteel.

Then it moves up to what I carry with the big knives or pocket knives. Everything has it's category and I have many woods wandering kits of which I need to post photos.

I was waiting for the Busse Hog Muk, but that seems like it will never happen and then Dan answered my prayers on this.... Now I have a Modern Muk to go with my modern Muk kit... Now for an axe to match as I have my double bladed Byrdwings Spyderco to compliment it.
