Depending on price, I might get it - the lack of changes to the guard obviously bugs me, but I can cut the top guard off and make it more like the sod, or pull the handle and add a metal guard on my own.

The grind change I'm not a huge fan of, but Dan's reasoning for the change is good and it will be interesting to try the two side by side. The difference will likely be much like the difference between the cg and le sod. The addition of the rounded spine, however, might go a long way toward making up for the change in the grind. I love love love rounded spines because I do a lot of batoning.
