Thick blades = greater injury, on the fighter topic. Gaping wound, more damage, more trauma, harder to staunch bleeding etc. would you rather be stabbed with a razor thin blade, or a huge 1/4" thick blade. imagine thrusting into a slab of meat. think about bullet calibers.
