How can you tell the cod is dead?
....'cause the rifle is not smiling...
I MUCH prefer plastics on the FAL, be it metric or inch. That said, when I was running one of my SLRs in a Service Rifle match I fitted it up with wood, being a little denser I think it make it a wholly more pleasant experience to shoot from prone for hours.
