I don't think so. Too much like my SOD. Only difference I can see is the 711 is about 1/8 inch shorter and has a convex grind.

I'm gonna get one for me and my dad. I don't have an SOD and I think the only difference is the heat treat.

SOD is gonna be SR-77 and the 711 will be SR-101 also. Forgot about the steel. But it'll still do anything the 711 will do, and I've already got it.

I'm gonna pick up a 411 and 311 when they come out though. The rest of them will probably just be too much like what I've already got.
