I never suggested in any way that SY stop making hard use knives. But they have the 154CM steel and it is excellent for holding a sharp edge. It would be outstanding for kitchen knives. If you look at the prices of some of the very fine kitchen cutlery that is made of steels inferior to 154CM you might be surprised at what they charge. The Res C mudder handles are great, too. I just thought it might be one way to use that steel.

I couldn't agree more Vic. My Bird is over the top sharp and STAYS that way! It is a superb design for so many tasks from a lightning quick razor sharp Fighter to a slice it all in the kitchen. I wear mine every day and like I have said so many times I sound like a broken record it is a fantastic knife.
No I would never see SR-77 going away..it IS The Steel of The Yard. But this foray into the choice of custom knife makers on hand made knives to grace mudder handles it is a perfect marriage. I don't think if my Bird was SR-77 it would cut like this 154CM does.
So I am very grateful for the two Limited Editions I own. But if they offered more for kitchen use I would be no let me rephrase that MY BRIDE would be all over it. She'd beat me to the Pay Pal screen if they did. She really loves my Bird and often when I am in the kitchen she will ask for it so matter of factly just like it was one of HER kitchen knives!
I should stay out of the kitchen!
Peace.
