Ish is the Elmax strong as is
The 3.75 flexes with slight pressure applied at the tip. I wouldn't expect it to hold up if beaten.
HOWEVER, I did use a baton on mine while cutting a piece of 1/2 (approximate) green wood diametrically. It sliced right through. I think the key is to keep it perpendicular to your cutting surfaces. Don't use it to "pry" in any sense.
