I was in my teens and early 20s. I am 33 now and still have my skate in the truck. Too dangerous to be doing tricks anymore. I just cruise.

This was me until about 18, gave it up for the same reason you gave.....Way too dangerous and I'm lucky I got off with a bunch of very minor injuries. Skateboarding is gnarly to say the least, and you have to not care about your body to be any good at it....
