Those FN pistols have interesting claibres but IMO "blind" designers ... they give me the sense of "loss of oppertunity" that the H&K P9S 9mm's did when I first saw them ... a sort of HUGE lack of beauty ... reminds me of the comic book drawings of pistols ... but you cannot argue at the ingenuity of the calibre .... a 2000 fps round with rifle style ballistic tips and hollow points .... great for those who want to shoot through bullet proof vests ... not so hot for those who have to wear them .... for Civi use I would worry about over penetration if carried in a defensive role .... if the bad guy has no kevlar then the risk of it zipping through him seems high .... I guess it would all depend on the bullet head construction. Lord knows how they would work with a teflon jacket though .... makes you wonder what FN had in mind for the LEO community or the Military when doing them ... I think level III armour might struggle with a teflon jacket ... you would really need a ceramic plate ...

Nothing wrong with them in lawful hands but for criminals and terrorists FN just seem to have done a pistol which enables "centre mass" shooting with mild recoil which would negate any of the comfort a low profile armour vest would offer ... so for this reason I have to say I am not very taken with them ... but no doubt other calibres can also do similar .... it is just that those calibres are usually large bore and designed for defense against dangerous game or hand gun hunting .... these pistols are something else ...

Anyway ... apologies if this causes offense .... it just concerns me that FN are a bit irresponsible on this sort of thing .... the LEO and Military have enough to contend with as it is ....
