As to the Remington R1. I have not shot one yet, but have fondled a few of them at the gun store. I must say that it has a lot to offer. I do know there are a few guys that are changing the internals, going to beavertails, etc. One thing that I like is the looks of simple and not cluttered with all kinds of "extras". Now, if Remington would make it without all the slide engraving I would be really tempted.
