quahogs I HAVE heard of, but never had. Saugy hot dogs, never heard of. Johnny cakes I've had. Mom used to take mash taters and make "cakes" out of them and fry them in a skillet. Weren't all that bad.

OK, here is PATTY's rendition of Clam Chowder. It's actually pretty good everybody that has had it thinks.

PATTTY'S CLAM CHOWDER
1 pound diced and fried crisp bacon
1 large can cream of mushroom soup
1 bag (32oz) diced frozen taters (boiled until about half done)
2 cans minced or diced clams (Y'all might use fresh when you can Ray)
1 cup evaporated or regular milk
1 can drained corn
1 whole diced onion

Add everything together and cook until it boils. Then reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes or until the taters are finished the way you like.

Serve in bowls and top with shredded cheese of your choice, French fried onions and oyster crackers. YUM YUM!
