We have started using the smoker when it is too hot to use the oven or stove. It keeps the heat out of the house. The bonus is, smoked apple pie is strangely delicious.

I have a propane unit that I haven't used yet. The last time I smoked ribs was on my grill, low and slow. It's too darn hot to think about that now.
