Born in Southern Illinois, grew up in the burbs of Chicago. The last time I was in California was 1970 for a VietNam buddie's wedding. My father was a part-time seller for a real estate company that sold parcels of land out there, which is how I acquired the land. I have been here in S/W Missouri for thirty years now and have never been happier with where I live. By the way, Pahrumph was even in the old television series Death Valley Days on occasion.
