I had a S&W 629 once upon a time. Carried it on my hip when I was deer hunting. I had a doe get under my tree stand one morning before daylight, and when it got light enough to shoot I couldn't get my rifle on her. I just leaned out, held on to the tree with one hand and shot her with the other.

I can shoot a .44 Mag one handed as good as I can shoot any other pistol, recoil just doesn't bother me at that level.
