Our county just put a new personnel rule in place that if county employees don't pay their property taxes on time they can be fired. Ticked off a LOT of employees. Times are tough around here. I always pay my property taxes with my income tax refund in the spring. Ours aren't even due til Jan. 1st, and they don't consider them overdue til April 1st. You just get a little break by paying them by the end of the year.
