The Gadsden flag used by the Continental Marines as an early motto flag. It was the first flag ever carried into battle by the United States Marine Corps, during the American Revolution.
My grandmothers mother was a Gadsden, but her folks were Royalists, but it would be fun to find out if there was any sort of connection
