I was on my own at 17 and worked at a shirt factory to make ends meet. Finished school and new that was a dead end job and I would never better myself if I stayed in that state.

Joined the Army with the intent of doing 20. I realized I loved a war time army but hated CONUS Garrison life.

Got out and went to the academy and never looked back.
